Living in Limbo
Ever thought of hosting asylum seekers? There is a growing number of people across Europe recognising the need to support people fleeing their homes from violent conflict around the world.
This is the experience of of three neighbours in Bristol who host destitute refugees, as many as eight between their three houses, creating a safe, intentional community, while people get a chance to appeal their cases or submit a fresh claim for asylum. The organisation they are part of has hosted 76 people over the last six years, 28 of them now have leave to remain, 24 have had fresh claims or appeals accepted and are back on Government support, one has taken voluntary return. The rest are currently being hosted by families and people around Bristol.
